Description

Psilocybin, LSD, Ibogaine, MDMA, DMT, Ayahuasca, and Ketamine are all substances classified as psychedelics and are currently being researched and utilized for their therapeutic potential in the areas of treating depression, anxiety, end-of- life scenarios, addiction, pain and trauma. This training will recount the rich and exciting history of these drugs, as well as the current applications and clinical research being conducted to better understand the mechanisms and value of these powerful chemicals.

 

Topics covered will include the initial discovery, research, clinical applications and challenges associated with psychedelic therapy and mystical experiences. The resurgence and ongoing research with psychedelics will be reviewed to analyze the neurological basis of understanding the mechanisms of these drugs and the attempts to scientifically validate findings that will promote additional clinical use.
